AMR has a key role in the nation’s Emergency Medical Services system
Emergency Medical Service (EMS) systems are locally operated systems throughout the U.S. And in more than 135 communities, AMR partners with other organizations, including its sister company EmCare, to ensure citizens can rely on their local EMS system with confidence.
From 9-1-1 calls for an individual cardiac crisis, to a multiple-vehicle accident with injuries, EMS systems are ready to respond to a variety of emergency calls. And in today’s age, EMS systems are more involved than ever in community security – preparing for both natural and human-caused disasters.
AMR works with private and public partners, including other ambulance service providers, hospitals, fire and police departments, to provide public safety and care. For example, police and fire professionals may be first responders to an incident with AMR partnering to provide medical care and transport to victims. EmCare is involved by staffing more than 4,000 emergency room physicians across the nation who stand ready to treat patients in crisis.
It’s an important effort that must work as a team. That’s why AMR consistently trains with its EMS partners to be ready for disaster response– no matter what the call.
